Getting to know you!
Well, this is my first attempt at blogging. I heard a lot about it at the shelter. It was the talk of the place. Everybody had an opinion. But you know what they say about opinions. They're like ... and they all stink. Or something like that. (A big doberman told me that one.) Anyway, I'm not sure how all this is going to work out but so far it seems pretty good. Mommy and Daddy take care of me. I get to go to the store with Daddy every morning. He calls me and says, "Hey, McGee. Want to go to the store? Want to go to the store?" Like that over and over and over. I know he's trying to train me but c'mon already. I get it. He sure can run things into the ground. But he's a pretty good human anyway.
Anyway, we go down to the store and we pull up and what does he say/ "Here we are at the store! Here we are at the store!" like it was some big deal or something. Okay, so we're at the store. Now what?
I'll tell you what. Next he wants me to jump down. jump down off that darn high seat in that darn high Jeep of his and he wants me to jump down all the way to the ground. Well, I did it but he wants me to do it over and over and over. Arrrrrgg! Anyway, then we go across the street and right away he wants to go inside. Hey, I've got smelling to do around here. Got to see who's been here. But noooooo! In the store we go!!!!
Hey, I ain't complainin', ya know? Its a heck of a lot better than when I was at the shelter. That was bad news all the way around. Way I heard it, some of those guys went away and never came back. Don't know if they found homes but somehow I don't think so.
The rescue place was a lot better, and the lady was nice and all, but there were a lot of dogs there, too. Not as many as at the shelter but a lot nevertheless. I didn't bother anybody and pretty much everybody left me alone. The day my people came to get me the lady gave me a bath and that was pretty rough. Can't say I really like baths that much. They're pretty overrated.
Anyway, I had a good feeling right off about the people, the new people, you know, the ones ... aw ... Mommy and Daddy. I've only been here a short time, just a few days but I think this is going to be good.
Well, they want me to go to bed now so I guess I've got to go. Daddy put me on a logo and now I guess I'm going to be a brand as well as a dog. More about that later.
Love,
McGee
P.S.: And we'll get into the whole business about my name, too. I'm getting used to this new name. I didn't care for the old one that much so that's why I'm not telling what it was. Might tell you sometime after I get to know you better.
P.P.S.: That's Mommy in the picture of me. She loves me. Can't you tell?
